What is AquaGold?
Aquagold is a microchanneling treatment to improve damaged skin with little bruising or down time. It is a revolutionary microneedle device that contains 24 karat gold needles, each of which is smaller than a hair follicle. This device can deliver your own signature cocktail of products into your skin such as platelet-rich-plasma, dermal fillers, Botox/neurotoxins, retinol, and antioxidants directly into the skin.
Infusing products directly under the skin allows them to be absorbed much more effectively and with a much longer duration of effectiveness because these products do not have to bypass the natural protective barrier of the skin. What is the procedure like?
The procedure is virtually pain free.Topical numbing cream will be applied to the area and the chosen ingredients are placed in the sterile Aquagold device. The numbing cream will be wiped off, the area cleansed and then the Aquagold device will be pressed into the skin in an overlapping pattern. The chosen ingredients are being delivered into the skin, not on it or underneath it. The device works with 20 tiny, precisely spaced needles delivering product into the skin at the ideal depth of 600 microns. The needles are inserted into the skin and then pulled back out, leaving the product behind. This creates a soft, natural-looking result, leaving the face looking smoother, tighter, and rejuvenated. The micro-needles stimulate cellular renewal in the upper layer of the skin through gentle needling, while the solution is dispersed into the dermis to enhance results.
How often should you consider an Aquagold treatment?
Your results are seen within 3-7 days after treatment and typically last approximately 3-4 months (depending on your lifestyle and overall skin quality). The procedure can be done as often as every 1-3 months; doing several treatments throughout the year will continue to improve long term skin quality.
What aftercare is needed?
You may experience some mild redness for 1 to 2 days. Most importantly there is no washing of the area for 4 hours and no makeup (if on your face). The only product you can use for 24 hours is a B5 gel (hyaluronic acid gel) that you will be given at your appointment. After the initial 24 hours, gentle care for 2-3 days and full results in about 3-7 days.
